If individuals have faced difficulties in their lives, they may think that they know how to handle a variety of situations. While this could potentially prove true, they may not know exactly how to address criminal charges if accused of drug crimes. Fortunately, parties in this type of situation could take advantage of the opportunity to become more knowledgeable on their options for dealing with allegations.
One woman in Utah will likely want to find out the most feasible avenues for handling charges recently leveled against her. Reports stated that officers had stopped a vehicle that the woman was driving after she reported failed to properly use a turn signal. During the stop, authorities purportedly discovered that the male passenger in the vehicle had a warrant out for his arrest.
The man was taken into custody, and after he requested a goodbye kiss from the woman, police allegedly noticed a baggie containing a crystal substance in the vehicle. Officers then also placed the woman under arrest, and she allegedly stated that she had methamphetamine in her bra. Officers reportedly found a quarter pound of meth on the woman, and she allegedly stated that she manufactures and sells the substance. As a result, she is currently facing charges for the traffic violation and manufacturing and dispensing of a controlled substance.
Allegations of drug crimes can have serious consequences, but the woman involved in this Utah case does not have to simply accept punishment. She has the opportunity to create and present a criminal defense against the allegations. Information on her legal options may help her better determine what strategies she may wish to employ.
