A man in Utah undoubtedly hopes to find the best manner in which to deal with his legal predicament after recently being charged with a sexual offense. The 21-year-old man has been accused of rape after a woman came forward with the allegations. Apparently, the man and woman met through a dating service, and though the man indicated he was interested in sexual intercourse and the woman stated she was not, the two met for a date.
The pair were reportedly supposed to get coffee, but after picking the woman up at her college dorm, the man took her back to his apartment. While there, the woman claims to have refused physical advances from the man twice before he held her down and allegedly raped her. After the purported incident, the man was taken into custody by police officers with Dixie State University.
The man has been charged with a first-degree felony count of rape. He was released from custody after posting a $20,000 bail. It was noted that the man had apparently been linked to previous investigations of sex crimes but had not been charged in the past.
Allegations of rape are serious accusations, and this Utah man will certainly want to approach his case in the manner that he feels best suits his situation. He may want to gain more information on his criminal defense options in order to determine which methods he may feel most comfortable utilizing. Additionally, he and his legal counsel can work together to assess the details of the charges and create a meaningful defense presentation.
