Facing accusations of being involved in a serious crime could greatly shake a person's resolve. He or she may not fully understand the predicament and wonder what options are available for dealing with the situation. In some cases, individuals may wish to gather information on criminal defense options that may help them combat the charges that have been leveled against them.
One man in Utah may be considering his legal options after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that a woman had filed a police report after allegedly being forced into prostitution by her boyfriend. She claimed that the man had received payments from other men in order to have sex with the woman and that the situation had been going on for more than a year.
After leaving the police station, the woman apparently went home and hid the witness form that officers gave her. The man purportedly found the form and physically and sexually assaulted her after tying her up. The woman reportedly escaped and called emergency services. The man was taken into custody and later released on bail. After his release, he allegedly made contact with the woman again against a court order, and he was again taken into custody on a bail of $750,000.
The man is currently facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges relating to the purported situation. In order to potentially combat the allegations leveled against him, the Utah man may wish to determine what avenues he may have for creating and presenting a criminal defense. Consulting with his legal counsel may prove useful in this endeavor and allow him to gain useful information.
