Sex crimes: Man accused of sexual assault in Utah

Being accused of a serious crime could lead an individual to face criminal charges. Sex crimes can come with severe consequences if an individual is convicted of allegations of sexual assault or similar offenses. As a result, an accused party may wish to determine how to create and present a meaningful criminal defense in efforts to combat the allegations.

It was recently reported that one man in Utah is facing charges after an alleged sexual assault. Apparently, the reported incident took place at a nursing home between a staff member and a patient. A female staff member purportedly contacted police and stated that a male patient had sexually assaulted her. The man was reported as being 54 years old, and the woman's age was not given.

According to reports, the man came up behind the woman and put his hands on her hips. He then allegedly began to make sexual advances toward the woman. The report also stated that police took the man into custody based on evidence that was found, but it was not disclosed what type of evidence was found.

Because the man is facing charges for sexual assault, he may wish to find out more information on how such allegations and related sex crimes are handled in the Utah criminal justice system. By gaining more knowledge on the subject, he would be better able to determine what he may face and how he could potentially handle his case. Consulting with his legal counsel could also prove useful and allow him to glean valuable insight.
